About

Steph Baeza is an emerging writer with an affinity for the speculative, fantastical, surreal, and absurd. Her current project is a short story collection called Iguana Daughter.

She has participated in the writing community at StoryStudio Chicago through several classes and two of their application-only workshops: Short Story Collection in a Year 2026 mentored by Cyn Vargas, and StoryBoard 2026 led by Denne Michelle Norris.

Her education includes a Bachelor's in English Literature a million years ago (2010) and a M.Ed. in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies a hundred years ago (2016), both at Vanderbilt University.

Her career has included many eras: elementary/middle school teacher, recruiter, workshop facilitator, and most recently user experience designer.

She currently lives in the Chicago area, always in search of a new bakery or bookstore to visit.
